Microsoft EPM-The next Big Thing!!

I am so excited to share this good news as I have been working with the Microsoft Project Engineering Teams. Here is what I have heard from official channels. Watch out your favorite blog for more exciting news.

Microsoft EPM partners are at the forefront of a major wave of migration that is rapidly building momentum within the user base of more than 16 million Microsoft Office Project licenses. This migration will take project management from a desktop application used by individuals to an integrated system for enterprise-wide resource management, communication, analysis, and tracking across multiple projects. The results are both tangible and compelling to organizations of all types and in all markets — optimized project outcomes, efficient resource planning and usage, and a better return on their investments in human resources as well as IT.

While the Microsoft Office EPM Solution lays the foundation for this movement, it is Microsoft’s community of dedicated EPM technology partners that pave the last mile to deliver on the value and promise of EPM technology. Microsoft EPM technology partners, including system integrators, independent software vendors, managed services providers, project management consultants, and training services organizations all have one thing in common — an understanding of the tremendous growth they can achieve by riding the wave of customer migrations to EPM.

An industry analyst estimates the market today at $3 billion in license revenue and $9 billion in service revenues, with double digit growth expected through the year 2008. This growth is compounded even more if you consider adjacent markets such as PLM, where EPM plays a key role.

Thanks, Ajit Mishra
